Summer Solstice Celebration.
Cardea is known as the Roman goddess of health, thresholds, door hinges and handles. The name comes from cardo which means door pivot. Originally, she was the nymph Carna. She resided in the area now known as Rome.

Cardea is celebrated at Beltane and in the month of June. The doorways that opened in May, such as the ones to the Fairy realm, remain open throughout the summer months. It is customary to leave offerings for the Fey during Midsummer celebrations if you are seeking to know, see or work with them. Many customs of the festivals for June are similar to the ones of Beltane. Though these months celebrate the Sun with expressions of gratitude, Cardea is a lunar goddess.
